Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement

Preliminary Procedure 
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING 
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
  3. Remove the rubber exhaust hangers to gain access to the auxiliary A/C and the 3 heater pipes.
  4. Remove the auxiliary air conditioning (A/C) lines from the thermal expansion valve (TXV).
1 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) Screw (Qty: 2)
CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .

Tightening torque 
3.5 N.m (31 lb in) 
2 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) - Auxiliary
Tip:  If the TXV mounting block needs servicing, the auxiliary EVAP core must be removed
3 Sealing Washer (Qty: 2)
Tip:  Remove and discard the sealing washer. Refer to REMOVAL PROCEDURE .
