Inflatable Restraint Front End Sensor Replacement

COMPONENT REFERENCE TABLE

Callout Component Name
WARNING: Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Before applying power to the front end sensor make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedure could cause SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
Preliminary Procedure 
  1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING .
  2. Left supplemental inflatable sensor requires to remove battery box. Refer to REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1 Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor Bolt (Qty: 4)
CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .

Tip:  Loosen bolts in order to remove sensor.
Tightening torque 
8 N.m (71 lb in) 
2 Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor Assembly (Qty: 2)
Procedure 
  1. Remove connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
  2. Disconnect electrical connector.
