Idle-Up Speed

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Check to be sure that engine idle speed is to specification. Check to ensure that idle-up actuator rod moves down (indicating that idle-up is at work) when a small light, taillight, license light and side marker light are turned on.
  2. With headlights on, check engine RPM (idle-up speed). Be sure that heater fan, rear defogger, and air conditioner are all off. If not to specification, adjust by turning adjusting screw. See Fig 1 .
