Cold (Fast) Idle Speed

NOTE: Fast idle check and adjustment should be performed with engine at room temperature, and idle-up system in normal operating conditions.
  1. Remove carburetor. Check that mark on cam and center of cam follower are aligned. See Fig 1 .

  2. Disconnect hose from Three Way Solenoid Valve (TWSV), and connect vacuum pump to hose leading to idle-up actuator. Apply 16 in. Hg vacuum to actuator.
  3. Check clearance between actuator rod and idle-up adjusting screw. See Figure . Clearance should be .10-.12" (2.4-3.0 mm).
