Rear Axle & Bearing
- Raise and support vehicle. Using slide hammer and adapter, remove brake drums. Disconnect rear brake lines. Plug all line openings. Remove backing plate retaining bolts.
- Using Rear Axle Remover (09922-66010 ) and a slide hammer, remove axle shaft and backing plate as an assembly. Grind retainer ring down until it is thin enough to be cut with a chisel. Cut retainer. Using a puller, remove bearing from axle shaft. To install, reverse removal procedure.
