If a vehicle loses all electrical functions, check for a burned fusible link. This incident may be caused by a shorted alternator lead wire. Inspect the white/yellow wire at the wire tie, located below the intake manifold/carburetor, near the EGR valve. (See illustration.)

Repair the wire as necessary, exercising caution to insulate and secure the wire within the wire tie.
