The 1st piston ring has been modified. As shown, the stamp marking on the end of the piston ring has been eliminated. The reason for this elimination is that there has no longer been specified direction, up or down, when installed. This means that the ring may now be installed whichever face is directed upward.

PRECAUTION IN SERVICING
Note that there is still the stamp marking on the 2nd ring. Therefore, as with the previous procedure, the 2nd piston ring should be installed with the stamp marking facing upward.
