SUBJECT: Piston Ring Modification

The 1st piston ring has been modified. As shown below, the stamp marking on the end of the piston ring has been eliminated. The reason for this elimination is that there is no longer a specified direction, up or down. This means that the ring may now be installed with either face directed upward.

PRECAUTION IN SERVICING Note that there is still the stamp marking on the 2nd ring. Therefore, as with the previous procedure, the 2nd piston ring should be installed with the stamp marking facing upward.

PARTS SUPPLY DATA There is no change of the part number with this modification.
