Engine Performance - Two Possible Stalling Problems

90suzuki04
Division: Automotive

Category: Technical
TSB No. TS 2-07 11080

Section Title: Body Electrical
SUBJECT: ENGINE STALLING/LOSS OF IGNITION SPARK

MODEL: SAMURAI

YEAR: 1986-1988

If a 1986 through 1988 vehicle suffers fron engine stalling, check for the loss of all ignition spark. This incident may be caused by an open wire in the distributor harness. If movement of the harness duplicates or eliminates the condition, repair the wire as necessary and secure within the wire tie.
Another stalling condition may be caused by an open circuit in the Noise Suppressor (Tach filter), causing no Tach signal to the ECM. If the ECM does not receive the Tach signal it will allow the fuel cut off solenoid to activate and shut the fuel off to the carburetor idle and low speed circuits. To repair the Noise Suppressor must be replaced.
