Transmission Control Module (TCM): Installation

CAUTION:

When replacing the TCM, be sure to perform [Start count reading ECU to SSM] before operation and perform [Start count writing SSM to ECU] after operation. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>Work Support>NOTE .
When [Start count reading ECU to SSM] cannot be performed due to TCM malfunction, be sure to replace the starter and fuel pump relay at the same time.
Starter:

Refer to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DOTC)>Starter .

Fuel pump relay:

Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>Fuel Pump Relay .

Install the TCM.
Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
Connect the connector.
NOTE: Move the lock lever and confirm that a clicking sound is heard.
Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
Perform [Clear AT learning value] and [AT learning mode] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>AT learning .
