Basic Diagnostic Procedure: Procedure
- CHECK WARNING LIGHT
.
Check whether the airbag warning light in the combination meter is lit.
Does the airbag warning light illuminate?
Yes: Go to 2 .
No: Perform the diagnosis according to phenomenon of the problem.
- READ DTC
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to data link connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON and run the Subaru Select Monitor.
- Read the DTC. Ref. to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>OPERATION .NOTE: If the communication function of the Subaru Select Monitor cannot be executed properly, check the communication circuit. Ref. to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Subaru Select Monitor>INSPECTION .
- Record all DTCs and freeze frame data.
Is DTC displayed?
Yes: Go to 3 .
No: Go to "Airbag Warning Light Failure" Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FAILURE .
- PERFORM DIAGNOSIS
.
- Determine the possible cause from "List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)" Ref. to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .
- Inspect the DTC using "List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)".
- Repair the trouble cause.
- Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Ref. to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Clear Memory Mode .
- Perform the Inspection Mode. Ref. to OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Inspection Mode .
- Read any other DTCs displayed.
Is DTC displayed?
Yes: Perform the procedure 1) to 5) in step 3.
No: Finish the diagnosis.
