SERVICE INFORMATION

If you encounter an Error Code 4404 "Failed to change session mode. Reprogramming is aborted." while performing Service Program Bulletin WVU-31, try using the following procedure:

Exit all open programs on the Subaru Select Monitor III.
Disconnect the "D" check connectors.
Turn the ignition key to the "Off" position then back to the "On" position.
Shift the transmission select lever from Park into Neutral then back into the Park position.
Open Flash Write and select the correct PAK file to be installed. Proceed with reprogramming.
If the same error code occurs again, repeat the above procedure but do not disconnect the "D" check connectors.

As always, remember to have the Subaru Select Monitor III plugged into a 120 volt AC power supply and ensure that you have good connections to the data link connector, SDI box and supporting USB cable.
