Transmission Control Device: Removal
- Remove the transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to
REMOVAL , Automatic Transmission Assembly.
- Extract the torque converter clutch assembly. Refer to
REMOVAL , Torque Converter Clutch Assembly.
- Remove the input shaft.
- Lift-up lever behind the transmission harness connector and disconnect it from stay.
- Disconnect the air breather hoses. Refer to
REMOVAL , Air Breather Hose.
- Disconnect inhibitor switch connector from stay.
- Wrap vinyl tape around the nipple attached to the air breather hose.
- Remove pitching stopper bracket.
- Remove the inhibitor switch.

- Remove control valve body assembly. Refer to
REMOVAL , Control Valve Body.
- Pull off the straight pin of manual plate.

- Remove bolts securing select lever, then remove select lever, manual plate and parking rod.
NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the lips of the press-fitted oil seal in the case.

- Remove the detention spring.
