Air Bag System Component Visual Inspection

  1. Visually inspect components according to fault code displayed. See RETRIEVING CODES  under DIAGNOSTICS. Inspect components related to fault code displayed for defects, including connectors, wiring harnesses, cases, and mounts. See FAULT CODE COMPONENTS . Replace defective components as necessary and go to next step. If no problems are detected, go to AIR BAG SYSTEM COMPONENT VIBRATION INSPECTION .
  2. Reconnect system components and activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Clear air bag system codes. See CLEARING CODES  under DIAGNOSTICS. Check for normal air bag system operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
