Catalytic Converter: Testing and Inspection

1. With catalytic converter removed from vehicle, inspect visible internal components for signs of melting, clogging or other damage.
2. Check converter housing for severe dents, cracks or other external damage.
3. Shake converter and listen for loose components.
4. Replace converter if any of the above conditions are encountered.
