DTC P1420 (PCVSOL_Hi): Fuel Tank Pressure Control Solenoid Valve Circuit High Input
- Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter connected to ground, backprobe PCM harness connector terminal No. 10 (Light Green/Black wire). If voltage reading is 10 volts or less, check PCM connector contact and repair as needed. If connection is okay, replace PCM. If voltage reading is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel tank pressure control solenoid harness connector. Turn ignition on. Backprobe PCM harness connector terminal No. 10 (Light Green/Black wire). If voltage reading is 10 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage reading is more than 10 volts, repair short to voltage in harness between PCM and fuel tank pressure control solenoid, then replace PCM.
- Turn ignition off. Check resistance of fuel tank pressure control solenoid between terminals No. 1 and 2. If resistance is one ohm or less, replace solenoid and PCM. If resistance is more than one ohm, check for poor terminal contact in PCM connector. If connection is okay, replace PCM.
