Control Unit

Control unit contains a microcomputer which monitors electrical system components and connections. Impact sensors and safety sensors are built into the control unit. Control unit performs a system self-check every time ignition is turned on. Control unit also energizes SRS readiness indicator light (AIR BAG warning light) during initial system self-check, and whenever a fault is detected. The control unit has self-diagnostic capabilities. Stored fault codes are displayed as flash codes by the AIR BAG warning light.
