Knock Sensor (KS)

Installed on cylinder block, this sensor responds to cylinder block vibrations resulting from detonation. If detonation occurs, KS generates and sends a signal to ECM. From this signal, ECM retards spark timing until detonation stops. This device may also be referred to as a detonation sensor.
