DTC U3000-66: Control Module Signal Has Too Many Transitions / Events [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. VERIFY ECM DTC 
    1. Using the Techstream, perform the ECM DTC inspection.

      Refer to ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [07/2015 - ]

      Powertrain > Powertrain Control Module > Trouble Codes 

    2. Are any DTCs present?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  2

    Yes 

    See step  7

    Result:  1

    No 

    See step  2

  2. VERIFY COMBINATION METER DTC 
    1. Using the Techstream, perform the combination meter DTC inspection.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Body Electrical > Instrument Cluster > Trouble Codes 

    2. Are any DTCs present?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  2

    Yes 

    See step  6

    Result:  1

    No 

    See step  3

  3. VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED 
    1. Using the Techstream, clear the DTC from the laser sensor.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Chassis > Smart City Brake Support > Clear DTCs 

    2. Using the Techstream, perform the laser sensor DTC inspection.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Chassis > Smart City Brake Support > Trouble Codes 

    3. Is the same DTC present?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  2

    Yes 

    See step  5

    Result:  1

    No 

    See step  4

  4. VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT 
    1. Are any DTCs present?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    No 

    DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED. 

    Result:  2

    Yes 

    GO TO APPLICABLE DTC INSPECTION.. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2015 - ] 

  5. REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1. 
    1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the laser sensor, then go to the next step.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:  1

    NEXT

  6. GO TO APPLICABLE DTC INSPECTION. 
    1. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2015 - ]
    2. DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.

      Result

      Proceed to

  7. GO TO APPLICABLE DTC INSPECTION. 
    1. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2015 - ]
    2. DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.
