Speedometer Drops to Zero When Using OnStar(R) (Reprogram IPC)

2005 Buick Terraza; 2005 Chevrolet Uplander; 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6; 2005 Saturn Relay; with Base Level Cluster (RPO UH8) and OnStar(R) System (RPO UE1)

Condition

Some customers may comment that the speedometer drops to zero when using the OnStar(R) system.

Correction

IMPORTANT: Programming the IPC must be done PASS-THRU ONLY.

Technicians are to reprogram the IPC with an updated software calibration. This new service calibration was released with TIS satellite data update version 5.0 available May 5, 2005. As always, make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version.

For "stand alone" or non-GM Access connected dealers, the TIS 5 2005 Data CD5 will also contain this information and is expected to be mailed starting the week of 5/9/05 for GM, week of 5/16/05 for Saturn U.S., and the week of 5/23/05 for Saturn Canada.
