CONDITION

The purpose of this bulletin is to outline the VT25E transaxle limited on-vehicle service program for the 2002-2003 model year Saturn VUE vehicles. Beginning October 15th, 2002, VT25E limited on-vehicle service is authorized for the components listed in this bulletin. The limited on-vehicle service program is to be used in conjunction with the VT25E transaxle replacement program, which will remain effective until April 15th, 2003 (refer to bulletin number (02-T-32A ) VT25-E TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT PROGRAM. Beginning April 15th, 2003, full off-vehicle repair of the VT25E transaxle will be authorized to Saturn retailers. A separate service bulletin will be published to provide the details at a later date.

Authorized VT25E Transaxle Limited On-Vehicle Repair Components

NOTE: Use DEX-CVT(R) fluid (P/N 22688912) only. Use of any fluid other than DEX-CVT(R) will cause internal transaxle damage.

IMPORTANT: Add one unit (10 CC syringe) of DEX-CVT(R) additive (P/N 22697447) whenever an unrecoverable loss of fluid occurs during an authorized limited on vehicle repair. Minor fluid loss, such as minor drips that may occur during the fluid checking procedure, does not require the addition of the additive.

IMPORTANT: VT25E transaxle components not listed in this bulletin are not authorized for repair and must be serviced under the replacement program.

Beginning October 15, 2002, the following VT25E components are authorized for on-vehicle repair for the 2002-2003 model year Saturn VUE vehicles.
