Diagnostic Procedures
NOTE:
If DTC C0040, C0041 or C0245 is also set, diagnose that DTC first. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
- Drive vehicle or rotate front wheels more than 3 MPH. Using scan tool, monitor VEHICLE SPEED. If VEHICLE SPEED is not consistently zero MPH, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If VEHICLE SPEED is consistently zero MPH, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBTCM. EBTCM is located at left rear of engine compartment. Turn ignition on, engine off. Using a test light connected to ground, quickly tap test light on EBTCM connector terminal No. 26 (White wire) while observing VEHICLE SPEED on scan tool. If vehicle speed changes, check EBTCM connector. If connector is okay, replace EBTCM. If vehicle speed does not change, go to next step.
- If test light illuminated when jumpered to White wire, repair short to voltage in White wire between ECM and EBTCM. If test light did not illuminate when jumpered to White wire, check White wire for open or short to ground between ECM and EBTCM. If White wire is okay, replace ECM.
