Test B: Dome Light Operates In On Position, But Not In Door Position
- Place dome light switch in ON position. If dome light illuminates, go to next step. If dome light does not illuminate, repair dome light as necessary. See appropriate wiring diagram in ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Move dome light switch to DOOR position. Press UNLOCK button on remote keyless entry transmitter. Dome light should illuminate for 20 seconds when UNLOCK button is pressed. If dome light does not operate as specified, go to next step. If dome light operates as specified, problem is intermittent. Inspect dome light harness connectors for loose and/or corroded connections. Check for broken or chafed wire insulation. Perform wiggle test.
- Using scan tool, monitor dome light feedback while commanding interior lights ON. If dome light feedback follows command, repair White wire between BCM and dome light for open or short to ground. See appropriate wiring diagram in ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article. If dome light feedback does not follow command, replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
