Circuit Description
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is used to reduce combustion temperature by introducing non-volatile exhaust gas into combustion chambers. Voltage on EGR solenoid signal wire should be zero to 5 volts. This voltage is monitored continuously. This circuit is bounded by upper and lower thresholds near 5 and zero volts. This voltage should never exceed the upper threshold or be less than the lower threshold for correct operation. DTC will set if sensor signal is less than the lower threshold for less than one second with engine running, and no battery-related DTCs are set.
