Driver-side AIR Bag Module

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Ensure vehicle is located outside at least 35 feet (10.6 m) away from other vehicles and people. Disconnect negative battery cable. Ensure air bag module is firmly mounted to steering wheel and there are no loose objects in front seats or on dashboard.
- Remove 3 screws and steering column covers. Disconnect Orange lower clockspring connector. Connect Detonator Cable (86 12 103) to Orange connector. Verify all windows are up. Run cable through door opening and close door. Place 12-volt battery on ground about 35 feet (10.6 m) away from vehicle. Connect Detonation Device (84 71 104) to battery.
- Press detonation button. Wait at least 30 minutes for air bag module to cool. If air bag did not detonate on first attempt, disconnect detonating device from battery and carefully inspect leads and battery.
