Oxygen Sensor Operation

The oxygen sensor checks exhaust gas for presence of unburned oxygen. Unburned oxygen in exhaust gas indicates incomplete combustion due to improper mixture, spark timing or other conditions. On turbo models, sensor is located in bend of turbo outlet. On non-turbo model, sensor is located on top of front section of exhaust pipe.
