Conditions For Repairs

Information 

This repair method is a cost-effective repair that may have quality implications. To achieve the best repair result, always use the tool recommended by Porsche and attend the special training courses run by the tool/system suppliers.

It is only permitted to repair laminated glass in windscreens under the following conditions:

• Damage in the driver's field of vision (30 cm wide in the wiper area -X-  ) and at the edge of the windscreen (10 cm -Y-  ) must not be repaired. →

• It is only permitted to repair damage to the outside of the windscreen. There must be no damage to the inner pane or plastic film.
• The repair must be carried out as soon as possible after the damage occurred. There must be no moisture or dirt that has visibly penetrated into the damaged area.
• The crater of the point of impact must not exceed a diameter of 5 mm.
• Cracks extending radially from the point of impact must be no longer than 50 mm.

A visible spot of around 1 - 2 mm in diameter will remain following the repair.

The following damage can be satisfactorily repaired economically using this repair method:

• Bull's eye: restoration of appearance 90-99%
