Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .

Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
Remove the Instrument Panel (I/P) Outer Trim Cover. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .

IMPORTANT: When removing the knee bolster assembly (1), care must be taken not to scratch the steering column cover (2). This can be achieved by slightly bending the knee bolster (1) to avoid contact with the steering column (2).

IMPORTANT: Grasp the knee bolster assembly (1) and carefully pull downward to disengage the knee bolster assembly to I/P retaining clips (3).

Remove the knee bolster assembly (1) and position aside.

Disconnect the headlamp switch electrical connector (1).

IMPORTANT: Push the rear of the headlamp switch (1) forward to disengage the headlamp switch to knee bolster assembly retaining clips (3).

Remove the headlamp switch (1) from the knee bolster assembly (2).
