Battery Replacement

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
3. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt and retainer.
4. Remove the battery.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the battery.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the battery hold down retainer and bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the battery hold down retainer bolt to 9 N.m (80 Ib in).

3. Connect the positive battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable bolt to 4 N.m (36 Ib in).

4. Connect the negative battery cable.
