July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Installation Procedure

  1. Check the crankshaft rear oil gallery plug is not loose, damaged or leaking.
  2. If necessary, coat the new oil gallery plug (1) with Loctite™ 242 or equivalent.

  3. Install the new oil gallery plug to a depth of 31.2-31.6 mm (1.22-1.24 in).

  4. Install the new pilot bearing, until flush with the crankshaft counterbore.
  5. Install the clutch. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement (5.7L) .
  6. Install the manual transmission in the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Manual Transmission - Tremec 6-Speed.
