Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

Fig. 4 Back-up Light/Neutral Start Switch Replacement:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect shift linkage and electrical connector from switch, Fig. 4.
3. Remove switch attaching bolts and the switch.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Adjust switch prior to tightening attaching bolts, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES/BACK-UP LIGHT/NEUTRAL START SWITCH.
