General Motors Compressor: Notes

NOTE: System must be discharged of all refrigerant and compressor removed from the engine to check the oil level. With the compressor on the bench, proceed as follows:
  1. Remove drain plug on compressor oil reservoir and drain oil into a measuring container. Note amount and condition of oil drained, then discard this oil.
  2. Install correct amount of new refrigeration oil by pouring oil into drain plug hole on compressor, then reinstall drain plug. Determine amount of oil to be installed as follows:
