5B Checking Engine Timing

1. With suitable ignition timing device connected to engine, set ignition timing to 10°BTDC while cranking engine.
2. If engine starts, set ignition timing to proper setting.
3. If engine does not start, remove distributor cap and crank engine to ensure rotor is rotating and properly indexed. Also check engine compression pressure and valve timing.
