July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2005 Isuzu Ascender, 2005 GMC Envoy XUV, 2005 GMC Envoy XL, 2005 GMC Envoy, and 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2  and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6 .
  2. Remove the head restraints from the front seats. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat in SIR.
  3. Lower the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement (Envoy XUV) or Headliner Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) or Headliner Replacement (Trailblazer, Envoy, Rainier) in Interior Trim.

  5. Disconnect the roof rail air bag electrical connector (1).
  6. Remove the forward tether bolt (3).
  7. Remove the clips (3) from the pillar.

  9. Remove the 3 bolts retaining the rear curtain to the roof.
  10. Remove the bolt retaining the bracket to the roof.

  12. Remove the forward curtain clip (2).
  13. Remove the 3 bolts (1, 3) retaining the air bag module to the roof.
  14. Remove the roof rail air bag from the vehicle.
