Doors Do Not Lock From RKE Transmitter Or Power Door Lock Switch

  1. Using scan tool, enter MALL diagnostic mode. Press and hold power door lock unlock switch. Cycle headlights on and off 6 times. Release power door lock switch. Press a door lock switch to LOCK position. If a bong sound is heard for each press of door lock switch, go to next step. If no bong sound is heard each door lock switch depressed, go to step 3).
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect MALL connector C1. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between terminal "C" (Gray wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, locate and repair short in Gray wire. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, select RFA Tests Function. Request doors to lock. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, go to step 5).
  4. Using scan tool, select RFA DATA LIST FUNCTION - KEY FOB INFO. While observing scan tool, press RKE transmitter LOCK button. If RFA receives RKE transmitter command, replace RFA module. If RFA does not receive RKE transmitter command, replace RKE transmitter.
  5. Disconnect RFA module connector. Momentarily connect a fused jumper wire between RFA module connector terminal E4 and ground. See Figure . If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, go to step 11).
  6. Check for poor terminal contact at RFA module connector, repair as necessary. If connector is okay, replace RFA module.
  7. Check Light Blue wire between RFA module connector terminal E4 and MALL C2 connector terminal C7 for an open or short. Repair as necessary. If Light Blue wire is okay, go to next step.
  8. Check for poor terminal contact of MALL connector. Repair as necessary. If connection is okay, replace MALL module.
NOTE: Body Control Module (BCM) may also be referred to as Multi-Function Alarm, Lock & Lighting (MALL) module.
