Description & Operation

Power rack and pinion steering system uses a rotary control valve to direct hydraulic fluid to either side of rack piston. Rack piston is integral with rack gear. Hydraulic pressure assists rack gear to move either left or right.

Power steering system uses a belt-driven, vane type pump with an integral reservoir. A pressure relief valve inside the flow control valve limits pump pressure.
