Idle Load COMPENSATOR (ILC)
- With engine running and transmission in Park, hold throttle lever part way open and allow ILC plunger to fully extend. Apply finger pressure to ILC plunger. Using a hand-held vacuum pump/gauge, apply 20 in. Hg to ILC plunger.
- Plunger should begin to retract. If not, replace ILC plunger. If plunger retracts, observe vacuum gauge. Vacuum should hold for at least 20 seconds. If vacuum does not hold, replace ILC plunger.
