Fuel Injection System - Diesel: Overhaul: Injectors: Disassembly
- Remove injectors from engine. Remove and discard copper sealing washer from tip of injector using a pair of diagonal cutters. DO NOT
damage nozzle tip. Remove all loose dirt and carbon.
CAUTION:
Parts of each nozzle assembly are preset and calibrated to meet certain specifications. DO NOT
mix up nozzle components.
- Unscrew inlet fitting from body. Press nozzle tip assembly out of body. DO NOT
damage nozzle tip. See Fig 1
.
- Slide retainer sideways to release retainer from valve. Remove spring seat and spring. Press valve from spray tip.
