Current Codes Using AIR Bag Warning Light

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Nissan Maxima. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on. After AIR BAG warning light illuminates for 7 seconds and goes off, turn ignition switch off within one second. Wait at least 3 seconds. Repeat on/off procedure 2 more times.
  2. Turn ignition on. AIR BAG light will now flash in diagnostic mode. If AIR BAG warning light comes ON for 7 seconds, OFF for 2 seconds, ON for 3 seconds, OFF for 2 seconds and then flashes a series of quick flashes, flashes represent fault codes. See FAULT CODES (DRIVER-SIDE OR PASSENGER-SIDE)  . If AIR BAG warning light comes ON for 7 seconds, OFF for 2 seconds, ON for 1.5 seconds, OFF for 0.5 second, ON for 1.5 seconds, OFF for 2 seconds and then flashes a series of quick flashes, flashes represent fault codes. See FAULT CODES (SIDE)  . Turn ignition off. Disconnect both battery cables. Repair system. After repair is complete, system must be returned to USER mode. See CLEARING CODES  .
