Coil Spring & Strut Assembly: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Remove engine undercover. Disconnect ABS sensor wire and front brake hose from brackets on front shock absorber.
  2. Remove mounting bolt and nut between shock absorber and transverse link. Remove tower bar (Coupe only). Remove mounting nuts on mounting insulator, then remove shock absorber from vehicle.
  3. Secure strut assembly in a soft-jaw vise. Slightly loosen piston rod lock nut. Compress spring with spring compressor and remove piston rod lock nut. Remove spring from strut assembly.
