Place shift lever in "P" position. Ensure transmission is fully engaged in Park. Loosen control cable lock nut and place manual shaft in "P" position. Pull control cable with a force of 4.4 lbs. (19.6 N) of force toward control cable support bracket. Return control cable in opposite direction .39" (1.0 mm). Tighten control cable lock nut. Move shift lever from "P" to "1" position. Ensure shift lever moves smoothly. Apply grease to contacting areas of shift lever and control cable.
