July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Ignition System: Distributor: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Check distributor rubber "O" ring seal and replace as necessary. Ensure all mark(s) made during removal are aligned.
  2. After distributor is flully seated, ensure distributor rotor is aligned with mark made on distributor housing during removal. See FIRING ORDER & DISTRIBUTOR ROTATION in SERVICE & ADJUSTMENTS SPECIFICATIONS article. Check and adjust timing. See 4-CYLINDER IGNITION TIMING in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. Tighten distributor hold-down bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
