Detonation Retard Operation (300ZX Turbo)

Problems with the detonations retard circuit should set a trouble code 34. If code is present, see code 34 chart in TESTS W/CODES article. Check knock sensor wire for open or short to ground. Check knock sensor shield ground wire for continuity to ground. Check routing of knock sensor wire. Wire should not be routed close to spark plug wires or high output accessories.
