Coolant Temperature Sensor Test - Code 13
- Disconnect 16-pin connector. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 23 and 26. If resistance readings are okay, replace control unit. If not okay, check wiring harness. If harness is okay, place the sensor into water that is maintained at the specified temperature(s) in the COOLANT SENSOR TEMPERATURE/RESISTANCE RELATIONSHIP
table.COOLANT SENSOR TEMPERATURE/RESISTANCE RELATIONSHIP
Temperature: °F (°C) Resistance Ohms 14°F (10°C) 7000-11400 68°F (20°C) 2100-2900 122°F (50°C) 680-1000 176°F (80°C) 260-390 212°F (100°C) 180-200 - If the readings of the sensor do not match the ones in the table, replace temperature sensor. If readings match the ones in the table, sensor is good, replace the control unit.
