Purge Control System Check
- Connect the hand vacuum pump to the nipple A of the evaporative emission purge solenoid.
- When the engine is cold or hot, apply a vacuum of 53 kPa (7.7 psi), and check the condition of the vacuum.ENGINE CONDITION DESCRIPTION - WHEN ENGINE IS COLD [ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE: 40°C (68°F) OR LESS]
Engine condition Normal condition Continuous idling mode Vacuum is maintained. ENGINE CONDITION DESCRIPTION - WHEN ENGINE IS HOT [ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE: 80°C (176°F) OR HIGHER]Engine condition Normal condition Continuous idling mode (after 4 minutes have passed since the engine was started) Vacuum will leak.
