July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Work Procedure

CAUTION: Always use M.U.T.-III SE when adjusting the neutral position of steering angle sensor. (It cannot be adjusted other than with M.U.T.-III SE.)
  1. CHECK THE VEHICLE STATUS (1) 

    Stop vehicle with front wheels in the straight-ahead position.

    Does the vehicle stay in the straight-ahead position?

    YES >>

    GO TO  2.

    NO >>

    Steer the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position. Stop the vehicle.

  2. ADJUST NEUTRAL POSITION OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    1. Electric motor switch ON.
      CAUTION: Never start engine.
    2. Select "ABS", "Sensor calibration" (in "Special function") and "ST ANGLE SENSOR ADJUSTMENT" in this order.
    3. Select "OK".
      CAUTION: Never touch steering wheel while adjusting steering angle sensor.
    4. After "Completed" is displayed, wait bout 10 seconds and press "OK".
    5. Electric motor switch OFF (Auto ACC function OFF), and then it ON again.
      CAUTION: Be sure to perform the operation above.

    GO TO  3.

  3. CHECK DATA MONITOR (1) 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    1. The vehicle is either pointing straight ahead, or the vehicle needs to be moved. Stop when it is pointing straight ahead.
    2. Select "ABS", "Data List", and "Steering angle" in the order. Check that the signal is within the specified value. Refer to REFERENCE VALUE .

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES >>

    GO TO  10.

    NO >>

    GO TO  4.

  4. CHECK STEERING COMPONENT PARTS 

    Check the installation condition of steering component parts. Refer to INSPECTION .

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES >>

    GO TO  5.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.

    GO TO  5.

  5. CHECK FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENT PARTS 

    Check the installation condition of front suspension component parts. Refer to INSPECTION .

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES >>

    GO TO  6.

    NO >>

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.

    GO TO  6.

  6. CHECK FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Check the front wheel alignment. Refer to INSPECTION .

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES >>

    GO TO  7.

    NO >>

    Adjust the front wheel alignment. Refer to ADJUSTMENT .

    GO TO  7.

  7. CHECK THE VEHICLE STATUS (2) 

    Stop vehicle with front wheels in the straight-ahead position.

    Does the vehicle stay in the straight-ahead position? 

    YES >>

    GO TO  8.

    NO >>

    Steer the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.

    GO TO  8.

  8. CHECK DATA MONITOR (2) 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    1. The vehicle is either pointing straight ahead, or the vehicle needs to be moved. Stop when it is pointing straight ahead.
    2. Select "ABS", "Data List", and "Steering angle" in the order. Check that the signal is within the specified value. Refer to REFERENCE VALUE .

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES >>

    GO TO  10.

    NO >>

    GO TO  9.

  9. CHECK DATA MONITOR (3) 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    1. The vehicle is either pointing straight ahead, or the vehicle needs to be moved.
      CAUTION:
      • Drive the vehicle at approximately 30 km/h (19MPH) or more for 300 m (985 ft) or more.
      • Never use tester
    2. The vehicle is either pointing straight ahead, or the vehicle needs to be moved. Stop when it is pointing straight ahead.
    3. Select "ABS", "Data List", and "Steering angle" in the order. Check that the signal is within the specified value. Refer to REFERENCE VALUE .

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES >>

    GO TO  10.

    NO >>

    GO TO  1.

  10. ERASE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    1. Record or print Diagnostic Trouble Code results and freeze frame data (FFD).
    2. Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code result of "ABS".

    Are the memories erased? 

    YES >>

    GO TO  11.

    NO >>

    Check the items indicated by the Diagnostic Trouble Code.

  11. EPS LEARNING 
    1. Pull the parking brake switch.
      NOTE: Check the parking brake switch indicator is turn On.
    2. Electric motor switch OFF.
    3. Get out of the vehicle and close all doors.
    4. Wait 65 seconds.
      NOTE:
      • Check the parking brake switch indicator turn OFF.
      • If the rear brake caliper is heated, wait an hour so that parking brake switch indicator does not turn OFF.
    5. Electric motor switch ON.
      CAUTION: Never drive the vehicle.
