Using appropriate adapter and torque wrench, measure preload while turning pinion gear through one complete rotation within 4-6 seconds. See PINION PRELOAD SPECIFICATIONS and PINION PRELOAD ADAPTER tables. If preload is not within specification, adjust end plug (rack support cover) and recheck preload. Tighten locking nut to specification.
