Idle Up Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

To test the Idle Up Solenoid Valve or the Throttle Opening Solenoid Valve, located on the flywheel end of the cylinder head, proceed as follows.


1. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (connector M08 for the Idle Up Solenoid Valve or connector A06 for the Throttle Opening Solenoid Valve, refer to ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC DIAGRAMS).
2. Test for resistance across the two connector terminals.
Standard Value
38-44 ohm @ 20°C (68°F)

3. If the solenoid valve's resistance is out of the standard value limits replace the solenoid.
