Fuel Injection System - ECI System: Description

Electronically Controlled Injection (ECI) is a computerized emission, ignition and fuel control system. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the ECI system along with other related systems to continuously adjust engine operation. See Fig 1 .

NOTE: Some sub-systems which affect fuel system operation are covered in this article. Because of interrelated functions of the computer control system, refer to MITSUBISHI ECI SYSTEM article in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS section for more information.
