Test K: Memory Seat Switch Indicator Inoperative/Always On

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect memory set switch connector. Using DVOM in diode check position, measure resistance between memory set switch pins No. 1 and 4 (component side). See Figure . Switch leads and measure resistance again. If resistance is low in one direction and infinite in other, go to next step. If resistance is not low in one direction and infinite in other, replace memory set switch.
  2. Measure resistance between ground and memory set switch connector C521 terminal No. 1 (Black wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire.
  3. Disconnect Driver's Seat Module (DSM) connectors. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and memory set switch connector C521 terminal No. 4 (Blue/Black wire). If any voltage is present, repair short to voltage in Blue/Black wire. If no voltage is present, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance of Blue/Black wire between DSM connector C2046A terminal No. 27 and memory set switch connector C521 terminal No. 4. See Figure and Figure . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and memory set switch connector C521 terminal No. 4 (Blue/Black wire). Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If resistance is as specified, replace DSM. If resistance is not as specified, repair open or short to ground in Blue/Black wire.
